CARL LEVI

Carl E. Levi joined the Board of Directors in January 1978 and has served continuously since that time; he is a Certified Public Treasurer and Certified Public Administrator.  Mr. Levi serves as County Trustee, Treasurer and Tax Collector for all of Hamilton County (TN) and seven of its incorporated municipalities. Prior to his election as a county elected official he served as City Treasurer for the City of Chattanooga. Mr. Levi is a veteran of the Korean War and is a retired General of the U.S. Army. He is a graduate of the University of Chattanooga, the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh Center of Public Financial Administration. Mr. Levi is a graduate of the Field Artillery Basic and Advanced Officers School at Fort Sill, OK. Mr. Levi is also a graduate of the Army’s Command and General Staff College, U.S. Armed Forces Staff College, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Inspector General’s School and the NATO School in Rome Italy. Mr. Levi held various leadership commands in the military from Battery grade to Brigade level and was at one time a military comptroller. Mr. Levi is active in the community, state and nation with The American Legion serving as Past State Commander for Tennessee and presently as the vice-chairman of the National Finance Commission in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Levi was named the “Treasurer of the Year” in 1988 and “East Tennessee Trustee/Treasurer of the Year in 2005 “.
