DAN JOHNSON

Dan Johnson is a native of Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in accounting.  He was appointed by Mayor Ron Littlefield as his Chief of Staff in April of 2005.  Dan retired in 2005 from the firm of Johnson Hickey and Murchison which he founded in 1977.  He is the co founder and current Treasurer of Blood Assurance, past  Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party, founding member of Jaycee Future Corporation and Jaycee Progress, Inc., which built housing for the elderly in Chattanooga, Chairman of the Board Tennessee State Board of Accountancy (governor of TN appointee).  He was awarded the Public Service Award from TN Society of Certified Public Accountants 1997, received the 2004 Benefactor Award from The Tennessee Council for Resource Development, and the 2005 Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Philanthropy nominated by Chattanooga State.

He has served as an officer or board member of The Orange Grove Center, Erlanger Hospital,  WTCI public television, Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club of Chattanooga, Chattanooga Area Literacy Movement (now READ), Tennessee Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
