BETTYELYNN SMITH
BettyeLynn Smith is Executive Director of Community Impact of Chattanooga, Inc. (Community Impact), a non-profit community building organization that works to revitalize declining inner-city neighborhoods. Before joining Community Impact, she served as Senior Vice President of Neighborhood Revitalization and Community Relations for Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, Inc. During her professional career, BettyeLynn has held several senior positions in the non-profit, profit and government sectors. Prior to returning to Chattanooga in 2000, she served as Executive Vice President of the National Association of Investment Companies; Senior Vice President of Client Services for Wedgewood Capital Management, Inc.; Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Pryor, McClendon, Counts & Co., Inc.; and as Assistant Secretary of the District of Columbia.
BettyeLynn is a trustee of the City of Chattanooga General Pension Plan; a member of the Investment Committee for the Chattanooga Opportunity Fund, the Knowledge Initiative Advisory Committee of the Fannie Mae Foundation, the Council of Advisors for the United Way of Greater Chattanooga, and the Nominating and Governance Committee of the Memorial Health Care System Board. She serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of both the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga and Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, as well as on the Board of Directors of the Community Research Council and the Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute. She is a graduate of Leadership Chattanooga 2003. BettyeLynn holds a Master of Science degree from Biscayne College (now St. Thomas University) and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
